Wilson ORMapper Forums Wilson ORMapper Forums : Other Databases : WORM on MONO?

Date Post
3/10/2005 10:38:31 AM I'm about to send in my fifty bucks but, before spending any of my hard-earned cash, has anyone out there tried using WORM under Mono on Linux?

No flames, please! :-) I'm just curious.

Thanx,
Garth
3/10/2005 12:12:34 PM Hi Garth:

I'm not real sure since I don't go out of my way to seek what everyone is doing. I hear some success stories of course, but I can't say I've heard anyone report any news at all about Mono usage. If you would like a non-debug version to test with perform purchasing then email me and I'll see what I can do.

Thanks, Paul Wilson
3/11/2005 4:44:25 AM Paul,

You've got my money! Or at least PayPal says so. What I'd like to do is to simply download the C# source for WORM (I believe that's available) and build it under Mono. This will be on Fedora Core 3 and Mono 1.1.4 using NPGSQL (ODBC driver) to access a PostGreSQL database stored on a remote FC3 server.

Think of the possibilities this may open! :-)

Thanx,
Garth

Does this work now? Is there any progress report?

Thank you very much in advance.

4/3/2006 12:44:34 AM I still haven't found the time or reason to work with Mono myself, so while the necessary changes may be minor its going to have to be someone else working on this that finds it a priority for them.  And please don't take that the wrong way -- its not that I don't think Mono isn't important, its that it simply hasn't been something I've spent any time with, especially since I've moved to .NET v2.0.

Thanks, Paul Wilson
